If Epiphany Then

If God can use the stars to beckon three,
Then who can say our lives are what they seem?
If one, I might decide to shade the gleam;
If two, then tough to say I didn’t see;
But three undoes my will to disagree;
And I must now learn how to trust my dreams,
To open eyes unscaled by mote and beam,
To look well past what’s right in front of me.
And if those lights from far across the sky
Were calling many more than say the songs,
What more might mean what’s more than meets the eye
When eyes are trained to last for what they long,
And hearts refuse all hopes to satisfy
That try to make this life a loveless gong.
