Today should be a holiday for Christians to encourage us to do things that don’t compute. Let us not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Fools for Christ Day
April 1st
The message of the cross is foolishness
To those who set their hearts upon their own
Destruction. Friends, He’d have us not wish less,
But more, and more than only what’s now known.
For worldly wisdoms whittle forests wide
To toy pretenders of what’s really real.
They work from outside to outside. They ride
The surface not much deeper than a keel.
They can’t explain their hearts and so they cut
Them out. And of the Passion Christ poured out,
They can’t imagine why because they’ve shut
Themselves inside a lie without a doubt.
But Christ is forests full of trees, the sea
Floor sand, the heart of things we fools can see.
