John 3 Sonnet

You said we never know which way the wind
Will go, nor where it was before we heard
The sound; we must accept our eyes are blind
To how the Spirit bounds around. A bird
Can simply spread her wings to harness air.
A leaf can shimmer saying more when shook
Than words could even try. That bird can share
A thousand songs in just one wind-hung look.
But water, Oh the water, sees and speaks!
She watches more and knows much more; and should.
For she can dance with God upon the creek.
How can she be both wind and light, and Good?
On every sunny windy day I see,
If I will look, and then I must be free.
